30 Farmers Conferred with Master Farmer Training Certificates in Domboshava

30 farmers in Murape village, ward 4 Domboshava were conferred with Master Farmer Training (MFT) certificates after completing a 3 year training course, Domboshava Dot Coms has learnt. 

The farmers who took the course received certificates today at a graduation ceremony which was held at Murape hall.

There was joy and jubilation among the
elderly farmers whose ages ranged  between 40 and 60 years as they were neatly dressed in their gowns and celebrating their success.

Among those who graduated is Mr Isaac Murove who is a village head and the oldest candidate among the graduates.  He is 79 years old. 

Speaking  on the sidelines of the graduation ceremony,  Ward 4 Agritex Extention Officer Mr Samuel Nyatowa congratulated the graduates for the sterling effort and determination they displayed over the past 2 years.

"I want to congratulate the 30 farmers for excelling in their course. They managed to satisfy the examiners and the external assessors hence they deserve to be given these certificates.

Mr Nyatowa said the graduates  were trained to get maximum yields from very small portions to help feed the national basket .He said the graduates are now ideal candidates to receive farming land from the Government.

Mrs Susan Mujati who spoke on behalf of Mr B Guti,  the District Supervisor said farmers  of Murape ward 4 were exemplary and encouraged other farmers to join the training program to help alleviate hunger through  the use of proper farming  methods.

" I want to congratulate these farmers who have been exemplary. I encourage other farmers to partake in this training programme to get the requisite farming knowledge and skills so that we can alleviate hunger.  With this training,  the country is assured of getting enough yields to feed the nation" she said. 


Mr Nyatowa indicated that there were challenges faced while administering this programme like the lack of adequate resources.

He called on members of the corporate world to help farmers in their programs .

Ward 4 Councillor, Mr Tapiwa Murima also called upon the local business people to assist the farmers in whichever way possible.


Headman Murape also graced the event and said the graduates made him feel proud.

"I want to congratulate the graduates and their extension  officers. They have made me very proud today" he said.
